Five Element Qigong & Philosophy

The theory of five elements - traditionally called Wu Xing, is believed to have been conceived around the Warring States Period (476 - 221 BC) by someone named Zou Yen.

Five Element theory is often referred to as the 5 Phases or the 5 Harmonies in Traditional Oriental Medicine. The five elements is a universal theory woven into Chinese culture and Daoist philosophy that is connected to the cycles and progressions of nature, its an ancient understanding of the natural world.

Join me to explore the philosophy and theory of the Five Elements and the practice of Five Harmonies Qigong.

Qigong is many things...

Embodiment, movement therapy, self-care, energy skill, gentle exercise. It’s a soothing body, mind and spirit therapy. Qigong brings together acupressure, slow stretches, gentle flowing movement and stillness. This magic potion releases tension and calms your heart and mind.

The best way to understand Qigong is to feel the subtle power of your aliveness for yourself.

This powerful practice transforms the body physically, emotionally and energetically, delivering deep relaxation and self-healing. Allow me to guide you in a 2 hour experience of movement, breath-work and vocal toning — including deep rest and meditation.

Medicine for the body, mind and spirit.

ACHIEVE ABUNDANT HEALTH, HOLISTICALLY

Practicing Qigong regularly offers a bunch of health benefits on all levels. It helps improve functioning of your heart and lungs, and digestive, immune and lymphatic systems. Releasing stress and tension can also help decrease inflammation and chronic pain, while improving your sleep quality and energy levels.

FEEL MORE PRESENT, HAPPY AND STABLE

Regular practice of Qigong can often feel like you’ve finally come home to yourself. You will find deep rest within an inner refuge. This new sense of ease will help you to be more present and focussed, and assist with emotional regulation.

STRENGTHEN YOUR MIND-BODY CONNECTION

Qigong is essentially a moving meditation — a great alternative to a traditional seated meditation — and a powerful mind-body practice. People who practice Qigong regularly report higher self-esteem, improved nervous system regulation and support in trauma-care and healing.
